How will the progress of a child with additional needs be monitored?
How do we keep you informed of your child’s progress and how can you support their development?
The progress of children at every stage of the graduated approach will be tracked using Provision Mapping, using the evaluation data collected by the Assistant Principal (Inclusion)and other assessment data from termly assessment weeks and PIVAT trackers. Progress for children on with an ANP or a My Support Plan will be discussed with parents at parents evening. Parents’ evenings are held twice in an academic year, you will have the opportunity to discuss how your child is progressing and how you can support them at home. The Assistant Principal (Inclusion) will be available for separate consultation should parents so wish. In addition, children with an EHCP will have detailed yearly review meetings to which all those involved in supporting the child will be invited.
We have an open door policy and encourage parents to talk about progress with class teachers and the SENCo when necessary.
If needed, we will provide daily or weekly, verbal or written feedback to keep you informed of your child’s needs or progress.
